AGREEMENTS

In April 2020, CERNET collaborated with Pacific Wave to apply for a five-year joint project with the NSF of the United States. Pacific Wave of the United States submitted an application and received approval.

In June 2018, at TNC18 in Norway, CERNET and Indiana University signed a new memorandum of collaboration, which further extended and deepened the cooperation between the two organisations.

In September 2015, in the presence of Vice Premier Yandong Liu and the Chairman of the European Commission, CERNET and GEANT signed a memorandum of long term cooperation on education and scientific research information infrastructure between China and Europe. This established a new long-term cooperation of EU-CERNET allowing over 80 million researchers, scholars and students from China and Europe to benefit from the 10Gbps education and research network connecting China and Europe.

In 2015, the strategic memorandum of cooperation with CERNET and the United States was renewed.

In 2014, CERNET signed a collaboration agreement with Internet2 on providing network and technical services for Sino US cooperation in running schools.

In 2013, CERNET signed a strategic cooperation agreement with JANET (the UK academic network) to provide network and technical services for cooperation in running international schools.

In 2012, the cooperation agreement between CERNET and UniNet was signed.

In 2011, CERNET signed a high-speed Internet cooperation agreement with Indiana University and Internet2.

In 2010, CERNET and GENI signed a cooperation agreement on "equipment and system R&D, platform interoperability". The two sides will carry out cooperative research in the field of information and communication technology, and then establish a future Internet research alliance between China and the United States. The goal of the Geni (Global Environment for Networking Innovation) program launched by the US Natural Science Foundation in 2005 was to build a next-generation Internet testbed that can support the experimental verification of various new network architectures and technical solutions.

In 2005, CERNET signed a memorandum of cooperation with DANTE (Delivery of Advanced Network Technology to Europe) to implement the high-speed interconnection between CERNET and the European academic network GEANT.

In 2005, it signed a memorandum of cooperation with GMRE (global medical research exchanges, LLC) and GEO (geographic network affiliates international, Inc.).

In 2004, CERNET signed a memorandum of cooperation between CERNET and KOREN on the interconnection of academic networks between China and South Korea.

In 2003, CERNET and HARNET interconnection upgrade agreement was signed.

In 2002, Chunzheng Wang, deputy director of the State Planning and Development Commission, and Shengzhen Hirose, undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Japan, signed a memorandum of understanding in Tokyo on the "next generation Internet China Japan IPv6 project". In July of the same year, CERNET, as the Chinese implementing agency of the project, and Japan information and communication network industry association CIAJ, as the Japanese implementing agency of the project, jointly signed the basic agreement and attached agreement of "China Japan IPv6 cooperation project of next generation Internet" in Beijing.

In March 2000, CERNET signed a memorandum of cooperation with UCAID, the next generation Internet Research University Alliance of the United States and Internet2 to connect Abilene, a high-speed academic network connecting 100 American universities.
