Bright Internet International Symposium
"Bright Internet" aims to promote the establishment of a preventive cyberspace security model to supplement the current self-defense-protected cyberspace security model. Bright Internet China Symposium (BICS) provides an excellent platform for communication and discussion in the field of next-generation secure Internet research, and jointly promotes further research and development in this field.
From July 2nd to 3rd, 2018, "The 2nd Bright Internet China Symposium" was held at Tsinghua University in Beijing. A total of 112 people attended the meeting, including 29 specially invited representatives, 8 foreign representatives. 15 experts gave special reports to the meeting. "Bright Internet" aims to promote the establishment of a preventive cyberspace security model to supplement the current self-defense-protected cyberspace security model. Bright Internet China Symposium (BICS) cooperates with Bright Internet Global Summit (BIGS) to promote and exchange research issues and research results in the field of next-generation secure Internet. In 2017, the first BICS event was held in Xi'an Jiaotong University. BICS2018 organized by Tsinghua University was the second symposium of the BICS conference held in China.
The BICS2018 conference was co-chaired by Li Xing, CERNET expert Professor and Jae Kyu Lee, Dean of KAIST Business School in Korea. David J. Farber, a double-appointed professor of the School of Computer Science and Public Policy Department of CMU University, who has made historical contributions to the development of the Internet and won the ACM SIGCOMM Lifetime Achievement Award,, and Zhao Huiling, Chairman of the Network and Service Committee of the China Communications Standards Association, and Tan Xiaosheng, 360 company vice president and chief security manager presented speeches in the conference. The conference also arranged seminar sessions and international cooperation round tables.
The participating experts introduced the research situation and research results in various fields in Internet security, network security prevention and defense in the form of special reports.
The symposium brings together experts in the field of network technology and experts from universities, operators, and Internet companies in the field of information system management and policy to discuss the combination of the underlying manageable and controllable network technology with the upper-level management and strategy. It has promoted the interdisciplinary and development of key technologies and management strategies for the safe and reliable next-generation Internet.
