Recently, CERNET Network Center issued a letter to all users to clarify the effective measures required to provide reliable network service and information security for the education system during COVID-19.

The letter pointed out that CERNET should be responsible for COVID-19 prevention and control. CERNET as the key information infrastructure for national vital information, education and research, provides high-speed, smooth, safe and reliable network services and information guarantee for teaching and scientific research for the epidemic prevention and control of education system and all users of CERNET. Relevant measures include:

1.Focus on ensuring high-quality international interconnection of CERNET (IPv4) and CERNET2 (IPv6) backbone networks;

2.Free adjustment of access bandwidth requirements of CERNET users and CERNET (IPv4) and CERNET2 (IPv6) backbone networks during COVID-19 period;

3.Strictly abide by national laws and regulations to ensure the safe operation and management of CERNET (IPv4) and CERNET2 (IPv6) backbone network and users during COVID-19 period;

4.Strengthen the collaboration of the operation and maintenance system of CERNET and CERNET2 backbone network core nodes of CERNET Network Center and its 41 universities, and the command and scheduling, coordination and rapid response between the user service system of CERNET.COM and its 31 subsidiaries.

The letter stated that we should work together in the same boat to fight COVID-19. With the concerted efforts of the people of the whole country, we are sure to win the battle of prevention and control of the epidemic.
