On January 19, 2021, the 2021 working conference of Henan Education and Research Computer Network was successfully held. The theme of this online conference was "Data Management in Educational Informatization". Nearly 200 people attended the online conference, including Yang Xueyong, Director of the Technology and Information Division of the Education Department Henan Province, Shi Xiaochun, a first-level investigator, Zhang Wensheng, Deputy Director of the Information Construction and Management Division of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Fu Xiaoyan, Member of the Provincial Network Expert Committee, and Secretary of the College of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at Henan University of Technology, Li Zhanbo, Director of the Provincial Network Center and Director of the Information Office of Zhengzhou University, and other directors of the information management department.
Director Yang Xueyong of the Education Department Henan Province, Technology and Information Division delivered a speech. He reviewed the education informatization work in Henan province during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, and made arrangements for the work in 2021, especially the construction of the provincial education and research network. Director Yang pointed out that in recent years, the education system of Henan province has successfully implemented the national and provincial requirements alongside unified planning and deployment, and promoted the idea of "Internet + education". The network security situation of the education system continues to improve, alongside the expansion of high-quality digital education resources. This, combined with improved integration of information technology and teaching is now providing strong support for the development of a high quality education system that is available to all.
Yang pointed out that the new situation has brought rare opportunities for the construction of a education and research network in the province. We should actively respond to changes, take initiative to further grasp the key points, improve the mechanism, reduce shortcomings, and optimize services. Yang emphasized four tasks to be focused on in 2021: first, further establish the management position of the provincial network center. Second, further develop the pivot function of the Education Information Security Monitoring Center. Third, consolidate the fortress role of each city node, and the fourth is to focus on eliminating the current shortcomings of the provincial education and research network.
Director Li Zhanbo of the Provincial Network Center and the Information Office of Zhengzhou University made a work report on behalf of the Provincial Network Center. He introduced the various projects carried out by the Provincial Network Center in 2020 regarding the prevention and control of COVID-19, and outlined the work required in 2021. Director Li said that the provincial network center will do more solid work in 2021, make greater efforts for the development of education informatization in Henan province, and provide better services for all network-connected units.
Li Runzhi, deputy director of the Provincial Education Information Security Monitoring Center, delivered a report introducing the main work progress in 2020, the current situation and problems, and the work plan for 2021.
Zhang Wensheng, deputy director of the Information Construction and Management Office of Northwestern Polytechnical University, made a special invitation report. In his report titled "Exploration of Data Governance Path and Practice", Director Zhang, combined with the exploration practice and thoughts from Northwestern Polytechnical University, shared the effective path of university data governance. He proposed that colleges and universities should establish a data management system, clarify data responsibility subjects, build a data operation management platform, visualize the status of data quality, and develop data value-added services.
Zhang Qiang, director of the Information Management Center of Henan University of Technology, shared his experience. In his report "Technology Leads Integration and Innovation to Promote the High-quality Development of Smart Campus Construction", he introduced the practical experience of the smart campus construction with topics such as "construction planning", "foundation promotion" and "system quality improvement".
Zhao Hailan, director of the Information Construction Office of Zhengzhou Normal University, shared her experience. In her report "Data Business Services-Current Situation and Thinking of Data Governance in Universities", she shared the practical exploration of Zhengzhou Normal University in data governance in the past two years. She pointed out that in the next step of informatization construction, "all businesses will be digitized and all data will be service-oriented".
Li Lulu, General Manager of CERNET Network Henan Branch, introduced CERNET's service measures for Henan Province in the past year and the work plan for 2021.
The selection results of 2020 Excellent City Nodes and IPv6 Scale Deployment Work Advanced Units of Henan Province were announced during the meeting. Fu Xiaoyan, member of the Expert Committee of Henan Education and Research Network and Secretary of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data of Henan University of Technology announced the list of awards.
The convening of this meeting provided valuable experience for the Henan Education and Research Network and all network-connected units to further clarify their work ideas and direction.
