EC-Bridge project

The EC-Bridge project is a Sino-European cooperation and exchange project in the field of information network under the EU Sixth Framework Program in 2004. It has been approved and supervised by the EU and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Its aim was to form a Sino-European academic seminar and exhibition in related fields. A report on the development of academic networks and broadband solutions to promote cooperation and exchanges in the field of academic networks between China and Europe, and to promote the common development and progress of the two parties in this field. The Institute of Network Sciences and Cyberspace of Tsinghua University is the Chinese undertaker of the project, and European Commission IST, Atos Origin Sociedad Anonima Espanola and Universite Libre de Bruxelles were the European partners.

As an important part of the project, the Chinese-European Networking Symposium was successfully held on December 9-10, 2004 in Shanghai, China. The symposium discussed and exchanged the current and future of advanced networks and broadband, including the status and direction of technology development, as well as the research trends and development trends of related applications, the promotion of excellent technologies and applications, and the latest trends and development status of the new network technology in the exhibition. The organizer of the symposium was CERNET, and the local organizer was Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
